Enuff of crapping hope i'll finally manage to study a bit after this. Else need one kind soul out there to hypnotise me to study.

Death

Its official.

His dead, after about 1 month of struggle. Doctors pulled the plug after pronouncing him brain dead, but his heart kept pumping away for another 1 day without support from lungs and other oprgans, before finally losing the battle for survival. Leaves you wondering, how amazing a human's life force is........

Death

Fear it
Hate it
Curse it
Avoid it

Embrace it
Love it
Savour it
Welcome it

Learning to let go is a virtue by itself. Death may often be a much better outcome for many, especially those in extreme pain or sufferings. If you love them, let them go..........

Green... Amber... Red...

Green... Amber... Red...

3 colours you see everyday on the streets when you try to cross the streets, representing safe (g0), risky(slow down), danger (do not cross) respectively.

What if one day, these 3 colours determine your life and death, NOT on the streets, but somewhere else in a more antiseptic environment?

This was exactly what i saw, what i felt, what i experienced at Changi Hospital today.

On an earlier date this month, a close family friend was driving on his way with his client to view some renovations he had done for the owner of the house. Along the way, his vehicle swerved to the left towards the road kerb and crashed into a tree. His vehicle burst into flames. Both he and his passenger were sent to Changi Hospital. His passenger died on the same day with 80% 3rd degree burns. For my family friend, he was luckier and suffered around 40 to 60 % 2nd and 1st degree burns and was admitted into the Severe Burns Unit in Changi Hospital recieving treatment. He had skin grafts and blood transfusions and was recovering at a steady rate and had a recovery rate of around 60%. That was considered very good news.

However, things took a turn for the very extreme worse yesterday night. My family friend's body temperature shot up to 42 degree celsius (very high fever) indicating viral infections. A few hours and countless tests later, his blood was found to be 'bad' and was given a blood transfusion. Another few hours later, his lungs collapsed and his kidneys stopped functioning and was put on a fibrilator (unsure of spelling) and a dialysis machine. His skin decolourised and turned very dark (indicating poor blood flow) and his face, hands and feets swelled (indicating severe infections), all this on top of the burns he is suffering. Yet another few hours later, his blood pressure plunged to an very low reading (indicating possible heart collapse or pending death). He was then put on a ridiculous cocktail of antibiotics and medicine strengthening his blood flow and immune system.

All those happened in the span when u and i were either sleeping, working or studying in the wee hours of dawn yesterday night. It is only today i managed to go pay him a visit in the hospital. The moment i stepped through the glass doors leading to the isolated wards (strictly no visitors, except to his closest kins, we could only see him through a glass window), all i felt there was pain.

It pained me ..................

to see his wife pressing her face against the glass window, sobbing

to hear any news about his condition

to look through the window at his charred shell

to hear muffled calls of 'papa' 'papa' through the glass window

to see no reaction from him at his children's cries

to see the 10 odd tubes snaking into his body

to see the menacing machines surrounding him

to see amber or red from the machines

to see nurses rushing in and out of his ward

to just stand there

to breathe the air he cannot breathe on his own

to console his wife whom he cannot even open his eyes to

.......

Please take a minute out of your busy life to sincerely pray for him for his rapid recovery. To pray for great strength for his wife and children to never give up. To pray for all the lights on the machines to stay green and NEVER NEVER amber or red please...

Please please please please please.....
