Tis Da Season To Be Jolly?

Christmas drawing near. Again.
New Year drawing near. Again.
Birthday drawing near. Again.
Nagging feeling of aging. Again.
Ranting. Again.

Fear of uncertainty.
Reminiscing.
Living in the past.
Refusal to move on.
Constant denial.
Again, again, again, again and again…..

When will you finally grow up!

Proud Finisher

WOO! Am a proud finisher of the following….

1) 2nd last exams as an undergraduate

This particular stretch of exams has been particularly challenging. In fact, they seem almost as bad as those long forgotten year one days, where everyday seemed like hell and all I felt like doing was dropping out or changing courses. Perhaps, this could be attributed to the very enjoyable 6 month break I had from studies, when I went for the Global Immersion Program in Shanghai. Ah….. How i miss those 6 carefree and almost responsibility free months of enjoyment and traveling.

The difficulty level for this semester was further increased by the ridiculous amount of time and effort I have to put in for my Final Year Project. Bad luck and the existence of some very minority lab mates who are horribly inconsiderate and who sabotage your work either intentionally or unintentionally, only serve to make this semester even tougher.

But well, I survived and finished the semester. Results will be out soon. Am hoping and hoping and hoping…..

2) Standard Chartered Marathon

Yes, This is true. Your bloody freaking lazy fat assed friend here, who is always complaining about thunder thighs and aching knees, completed it. All 42.195km of it. In a horrendously slow watch/clock time of 7 hours, 18 minutes and 34 seconds (Chip time - 7 hours, 12 minutes and 16 seconds). But who cares. I DID IT! WOOOO!!!! Am still feeling the euphoria of this major accomplishment and feat 2 days after the race. Am suitably rewarded with smelly shoes (rain soaked for at least 5 hours), mildly abraded inner thighs, rusty white singlet (due to the rusting of the safety pins holding onto my number tag), huge ugly and loose standard chartered marathon running singlet, a medal, finisher tee (bloody hell, ran out of my sizes, still waiting for it) and most importantly, aching knees, thighs, calves and basically everywhere else. Haha.

To sum up the route was ridiculously long, I ate 2 bananas, 1 Green Apple Flavoured Power Gel (some form of energy and salt boosting supplement) – YUCKSSS, numerous cups of 100 Plus, numerous cups of Ice Mountain mineral water and last but not least quite a few huge wads of HEAT RUB, that is some important shit mind you. :)

Speaking of heat rub, there was this really nice fellow runner who offered his own private tube of Heat Rub to me and Yiing, without us asking for it, at a time when most of the marshallers have ran out of them. That was probably the nicest stranger I have met for quite sometime. Yup! Hope you did fantastically and completed your marathon too!

Finally, I should thank quite a few people. SWMOFF Yiing, Mao, Jeffery, Kelvin and Qi for participating and finishing this incredible event together (more or less la haha), without any one of you, this would not have been possible. Thanks too to all those who came to support and eat with us! Buddie Ning, Bro Yen, Ethnic Angel Angeline and Mao’s Lao Po to be. WEEEEE! Gam Xia, Terimah Kasih, Danke, Arigato, Xie Xie, THANKS!!!!

That’s all for now.

Moo.
