I Hate Having Flu!

I know. It has been a really long while since I last updated my blog. Again. Haha! But that’s me. Have been feeling a little under the weather for the past week or so. I guess it could be called a seasonal flu, as many other locale Chinese are also getting it, so much so that while getting some meds from the locale pharmacy today, there was actually a long queue at the cashier, all holding some form of flu meds either for themselves or their kids.

Nothing particularly interesting has happened for the past few weeks, except the usual chore of waking up at 650 am every morning and rushing like mad to catch the company bus to reach the company on time. And like clockwork, every weekend (Sunday only, course I have to work on Saturdays), we will wake up around 11 and go to some place near our place for Chee Cheong Fun and then take a 1 hour bus ride to Shenzhen city just to walk around and immerse in what little civilization and fashion that this city/country could provide.

Yesterday was mooncake festival. It is a rather big event here in China, as some of the colleagues actually mentioned that it is the second most important festival after Chinese New Year for reunion and family events. For me, when I was in Singapore, it was almost always a must that I have to rush home for dinner with my parents, but, naturally, being here in Shenzhen I cannot do that, SO, I rounded up the other 3 Singaporean fuckers (oops. Haha). Together we went to get 1 box of mooncakes and watched a DVD coupled with some plum wine and beer. Basically, the mooncake sucked big time. Cheap ass, low grade burnt lian2 rong2 paste and horrendously dry egg yolk. But the day was made a lot better by the shiok plum wine and the power mama moon. Haha! (Man I love Singlish!)

What was most memorable about the day would probably have to be the dvd and the moon, which made me think of many places and most importantly friends and family. The show I watched was called Reign Over Me, which is a story about life of a man who lost his family to the 911 incident and the help that his friend provided him to help him move on. This brought back many memories of my horrible days in JC, where I had depression and all. All of which I managed to survive only through the help my dearest friend, who himself is going through a really terrible patch now and truly, I feel really guilty for not being able to be there when this friend needs it most. If you are reading this, stay strong my friend, you can do it! =)

Wishing you were here.
Tu me manques.

Ciao~~~~~

Off of to nurse my bloody flu. =(
Enjoy the attached photos =)
